This is a skilled position requiring at least one year of related experience. The driver will operate an end dump and/or belly dump (with or without pup trainers and tamping systems), deliver all types of soils, aggregates, and other materials to residential and commercial locations. Responsibilities include performing pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, servicing the truck, making normal operating adjustments, and lifting or moving transported materials as needed.
Requirements- Thorough operational knowledge and skills of end dumps and/or belly dumps (with and without pups) and related equipment.
- Class A driver’s license.
- Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
- Must keep time and material records.
- Must follow verbal and written instruction.
- Knowledge of different types and sizes of aggregates.
- Must have maneuvering and backing skills with double and triple pup configurations.
- Must be able to communicate effectively on the radio system.
- Can connect and disconnect a pup trailer.
- Employee must occasionally lift or move 10–30 lbs and be able to climb, sit/drive, shift gears, cover/uncover loads, change wheels, adjust lugs, and use hand tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers.
- Responsible for loading and unloading large quantities of water for compaction and/or dust control.
- Maintain equipment in efficient working condition and perform minor servicing or refer major problems to the supervisor.
- Must be an effective communicator and a team player.
