Accounts Receivable / Billing Specialist – Construction

Are you a detail-oriented billing professional looking to make a meaningful impact within a growing construction company? We are seeking a dependable Accounts Receivable/Billing Specialist to manage high-volume progress billing and collections across multiple active projects. This role is critical to maintaining healthy cash flow through accurate billing, timely collections, and proper documentation. Experience in construction is highly valued given the complexity of progress billing and contract requirements.

• Prepare and submit monthly AIA-style pay applications (G702/G703) based on project milestones across multiple projects
• Track, verify, and incorporate approved change orders into billing cycles to ensure full cost recovery
• Partner with Project Managers and Engineers to confirm percentage-of-completion data before billing
• Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding payments, and resolve billing disputes to maintain cash flow
• Maintain retainage tracking and lien waiver documentation in compliance with contract terms
• Reconcile customer accounts and support month-end close with AR aging reports

• 3+ years of billing/AR experience, preferably in construction or a related project-based industry
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Sage Intacct, Quick Books, Procore, or similar accounting/job-cost software
• Familiarity with AIA billing, retainage, and lien waiver requirements preferred
• Strong communication skills for client and internal follow-up
• High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
