Part-time Guest Services (19 hours per week)

$15 per hour

This seasonal guest service position, performs a variety of operational needs for the Capron Park Zoo. They will perform food handling and cashier duties, grounds maintenance, parking control, reservation hosting and other facility duties as needed. This position will have extensive front line customer service interactions and will need to be able to answer general visitor questions.

• Duties include providing quality customer service while greeting visitors.
• Responsible for preparing and/or building food items while adhering to food safety and handling procedures.
• Completes cash and credit card transactions for customers.
• Counts money to verify amounts and issues receipts for funds received.
• Cleans and maintains the work area (windows, floors, glass, equipment, food preparation counters, surrounding grounds, rest rooms, etc.), as directed by management.
• Provides effective and efficient customer service, while promoting and maintaining responsive community and working relations.
• Enforces Zoo policies regarding food and beverages, service animals, conduct, attire and other items not allowed on Zoo grounds.
• Utilizes radio communication to communicate with Zoo staff.
• Answers visitor related questions and directs visitors as needed.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining zoo grounds for guests.
• Provide customer oversight for birthday party and other rentals.
• Responsible for assisting visitors, as directed, during emergency situations.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

Knowledge of basic food preparation equipment, point of sale systems, calculator, computer and telephone and related practices. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors settings. Requires use of hand tools, housekeeping and cleaning. Must be able to stablish effective working relationships with supervisors, coworkers and the public.
