CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION DIRECTOR - Attleboro High School

Full-Time Position

Overview:

The CTE Director position is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated administrator. Attleboro High School is in a new state of the art building, which has allowed our number of Chapter 74 vocational/technical programs to grow to nineteen. This is an opportunity to lead one of the largest comprehensive high schools in the state, as well as engage, challenge and inspire students, through the promotion of deep contextual learning.

The Present CTE Director position:

The CTE Director leads and coordinates all facets of the district's Career & Technical Education programs that prepare approximately 1,700 students for college and career, including curriculum development and implementation; supervision of all CTE staff; coordination of purchasing; program projects and activities; adherence to all standards such as CTE Frameworks; and integration of CTE content with academics.

Necessary Background &

Qualifications:

* Preference for an individual with previous experience as an administrator and teacher in a Chapter 74 CTE setting

* A strong understanding of the Perkins IV legislation as it applies to Massachusetts CVTE

* Experience with grant writing and grants management

* A strong understanding of MA DESE Chapter 74 guidelines

* A strong understanding of MA Chapter 74 CVTE Curriculum Frameworks

* Experience with implementing strong instructional and pedagogical strategies in CTE classrooms

* The ability to analyze pedagogical practices to elevate the quality of teaching and learning in various CTE programs

* The ability to manage behavioral issues that impact education delivery and to create a positive learning environment

* Experience working with special education students and multilingual learners in a vocational setting

* Measurable evidence of leading student achievement

* Maintain accurate records and documentation related to instructional quality, student progress, graduate data, and program compliance including program advisory committees

* Stay informed about trends and best practices in career and technical education to continuously improve program offerings

* DESE licensure or licensable as a Career & Technical Education Director

* Master's degree preferred

* Citizenship, residency or work VISA in the United States required
