Information Support Services & Networking Teacher (Chapter 74)

Job GoalTo prepare students for careers and post‑secondary education in the field of Information Support Services & Networking, and to instill the employability and professionalism skills needed to be successful in the workplace. This is an existing program, and the candidate will be expected to work with administration to ensure continued program success. This will include enhancing the Program Advisory Committee and ensuring curriculum/ unit plans reflect the current and future MA CVTE Frameworks for Information Support Services & Networking.

The ISSN instructor will be working in a new, state‑of‑the‑art department, a new outfitted lab, to teach students the technical skills they need to be competitive in the workforce. The department is overseen by the Director of Career and Technical Education, who along with the teachers, works with an Advisory Committee, and area business leaders to ensure that our curriculum and equipment align with industry demand.
MentoringTeachers who are new to the profession will be matched with a veteran teacher who will serve as a mentor and provide guidance on lesson planning, classroom management, assessments and grading, etc.
QualificationsEligible applicants must possess a Chapter 74 Information Support Services & Networking license from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Principal Responsibilities- Responsible for the delivery of instruction of Information Support Services & Networking, in accordance with departmental curriculum objectives and the MA CVTE Curriculum Frameworks.
- Utilize MA curriculum frameworks for ISSN.
- Establish and maintain a professional classroom/shop environment, with an emphasis on shop safety, strong work ethic, and mastery of skills.
- Attend Advisory Committee meetings.
- Establish and implement specific goals in accordance with district-wide, school-wide, and department requirements.
- Support the Director of CTE in recommending program improvement, equipment & supply purchases, and grant preparation.
- MA DESE Teacher’s license (Chapter 74) in ISSN.
- Curriculum development experience and knowledge of integration of technical competencies with curriculum frameworks.
- Five years of recent (within the last seven years), full-time employment experience directly related to ISSN.
- Competency in software and equipment related to ISSN.
- Competency in the use of computer applications and instructional technology to aid in the interactive delivery of instruction.
Salary range: $64,004 - $108,744
