• Develop and administer middle school curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
• Create a safe classroom environment conducive to individualized and small group instruction.
• Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials, translating them into engaging learning experiences.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and modify instructional methods to meet individual needs, including students with special needs.
• Engage in professional development through seminars, workshops, professional meetings, or research.
• Maintain accurate records, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement, and attendance per district procedures and applicable laws.
• Encourage parental involvement and maintain effective communication with students and parents.
• Enforce student conduct standards in line with school and district policies.
• Collaborate with other middle school staff to evaluate curriculum and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
• Select and requisition instructional resources, maintaining inventory records.
• Supervise students during out‑of‑classroom activities, including transportation.
• Administer standardized tests according to district testing programs.

• Knowledge of current teaching methods, educational pedagogy, and differentiated instruction based on student learning styles.
• Knowledge of middle school curriculum and concepts across all subjects, data information systems, data analysis, and action‑plan development.
• Familiarity with federal and state education laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in using computer networks and software applications.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills.
• Effective communication skills with students and parents.
• Commitment to self‑evaluation and professional growth.
• Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with colleagues.

Works in standard office and school building environments.

• Appropriate Massachusetts Teacher Certification/License.
• Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an education discipline applicable to the teaching assignment.
• Master's degree preferred.

• Successful prior teaching experience at the appropriate grade level preferred.

FY26 Salary range: $64,004 - $108,744.
