School Adjustment Counselor (1.0)Coelho Middle School
PurposeTo develop and deliver social, emotional, and behavioral supports and strategies in order to help students institute positive changes and help them to achieve their fullest potential.
Performance Responsibilities- Build and support rapport among staff, families, and students
- Effectively apply clinical skills within an educational setting
- Provide school-based individual and small group counseling support to students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Provide conflict resolution support to staff, families, and students
- Serve as a member of the school-based Critical Incident Team
- Serve as a Student Support and Special Education Team member
- Collaborate with staff to develop IEPs, Functional Behavior Assessments, Behavioral Intervention Plans, and Building/Safety Plans
- Provide consultation services to staff, families, and students regarding social, emotional, and behavioral concerns
- Provide consultation support regarding the accessibility of community-based medical and mental health services
- Maintain communication with community-based medical and mental health service providers
- Assist with the facilitation of student safety assessments
Support student transition from mental health facilities/hospitals to school - Support student transition across grades and academic levels
- Support school-wide initiatives
- Perform other responsibilities as deemed appropriate and assigned by a supervisor and/or designee
- Experience with Safety Care.
- Experience with students with trauma, anxiety, and depression
- Multilingual preferred.
FY27 Salary range: $64,644 - $109,831
