Job Description

Position: Paraprofessional PreK Special Education (0.9) — Early Learning Center (ELC)

Schedule: Days:
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 8:20–3:20;
Tuesday 8:20–11:50

Start date: August 25, 2026 (with orientation days prior)

The Integrated Program provides an environment in which children in need of special education services are learning with and from their peers in an inclusive setting. The goal is developmentally appropriate learning opportunities individualized to meet each child's needs, including a language-based developmental preschool experience.

Responsibilities
  • Implements lessons and activities with accommodations and modifications to meet individual student needs as directed by the teacher.
  • Implements interventions and de-escalation strategies for students with behavioral issues.
  • Collects and accurately records behavioral, social, academic, and other data as required by each student's goals.
  • Communicates and collaborates with staff to support student success.
  • Assists students with activities of daily living to maximize participation in school activities.
  • Implements positive behavior supports and tracks student progress.
  • Assists students in non-instructional areas (lunch, bus, playground, bathroom, hallway, etc.).
  • Performs other duties as directed by supervisors.

Qualifications
  • Experience with ABA and data collection.
  • Ability to follow written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to establish supportive relationships with students with disabilities.
  • Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with students and staff.
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to assist with all aspects of self-care, including toileting.
  • Ability to implement crisis and emergency procedures per protocol.
Qualifications Profile
  • Highly Qualified: 2 years of college credits or equivalent, or passing score on the Para Pro Test.
  • Experience with students with autism preferred.
  • Safety Care or comparable de-escalation training preferred.

Salary: $32,266 to $47,397 per year
