Salary - $230.00 per day
Job Goal :
To prepare students for careers in the Electrical field, and to instill the employability and professionalism skills needed to be successful in the workplace.
The Team & Learning Environment :
The Electrical instructor using both teaching and industry experience to teach students the technical skills they need to be competitive in the workforce. The department is overseen by the Director of Career and Technical Education and the Assistant Director, who along with the teachers, works with an Advisory Committee of area business leaders so that our curriculum and equipment align with industry demand.
New Teacher Support :
Teachers who are new to the profession will be matched with a veteran teacher who will serve as a mentor and provide guidance on lesson planning, behavior management, assessments and grading, etc.
Qualifications :
Eligible applicants EITHER possess a Chapter 74 Electrical license from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education OR meet qualifications for licensure.
- Possession of a High School diploma or GED Equivalent
- Five years of full-time employment experience directly related to Electricity
- Possession of a valid Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician license
- Possession of a valid Massachusetts Master Electrician license
- Achieving a passing score on the written and performance test in Electricity
- Achieving a passing score on one of the following:
- The Vocational Technical Literacy Skills Test
- The Communication and Literacy Skills test

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES- Responsible for the delivery of instruction of Electrical, in accordance with departmental curriculum objectives and the MA CVTE Curriculum Frameworks.
- Utilize MA curriculum Electrical frameworks.
- Establish and maintain a professional classroom/shop environment, with an emphasis on shop safety, strong work ethic, and mastery of skills.
- Attend Program Advisory Committee meetings.
- Establish and implement specific goals in accordance with district-wide, school-wide, and department requirements.
- Support the Director of CTE in recommending program improvement, equipment & supply purchases, and grant preparation.
Substitute
Salary: $230 to $230 Per Day
