Vice President of Hospital Operations

Sturdy Health in Attleboro, Massachusetts seeks an accomplished and collaborative healthcare executive to serve as Vice President, Hospital Operations for Sturdy Memorial Hospital. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President will be a key member of the senior leadership team responsible for ensuring the hospital delivers outstanding operational performance while advancing quality, safety, patient experience, employee engagement, and financial stewardship. This leader will partner closely with physician, nursing, and administrative leadership to create an environment where caregivers can thrive and patients receive exceptional care.

The Vice President will provide executive oversight for a broad portfolio of operational departments, including Imaging, Laboratory, Food and Nutrition Services, Environmental Services, Security, Case Management, Emergency Department operations, Hospitalist services, Patient Throughput, and other key support areas. The role is central to driving operational excellence across the hospital by improving patient access and flow, optimizing resource utilization, enhancing service delivery, and ensuring outstanding operational execution throughout the organization.

A significant area of focus will be leading hospital-wide patient throughput and capacity management strategies. Working collaboratively with clinical and physician leaders, the VP will advance efforts to improve ED performance, inpatient capacity management, bed utilization, length of stay, discharge planning, observation services, care coordination, and multidisciplinary collaboration. The successful candidate will possess the leadership capability to remove barriers, align diverse stakeholders, and deliver measurable improvements in performance while maintaining the highest standards of quality and patient safety.

Sturdy Health seeks a leader with a master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, nursing, or a related field and a minimum of ten years of progressive leadership experience within acute care hospital operations. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of improving organizational performance, leading multidisciplinary teams, and partnering effectively with physicians, nurses, and operational leaders to achieve exceptional outcomes.

Salary Range: $275,000-$325,000 plus opportunity for an annual performance incentive.
