The Ascension House, an emergency shelter for men and women in Attleboro, MA
, is seeking adedicated and compassionate Residential Manager
to lead our team and ensure our mission of dignity, respect, and hope is at the heart of everything we do.
Our shelter is more than a safe place—it’s a launching pad for transformation. We connect individuals with housing resources, workforce development, financial planning, and mental health services to help them achieve long-term sustainability.

What You’ll Do
As the Shelter Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind daily operations, team development, and program excellence. You’ll:
- Lead and inspire a team committed to ending homelessness.
- Oversee program compliance, documentation, and operations with precision and care.
- Build partnerships with community organizations and referral sources.
- Empower clients through advocacy, housing search support, and skill-building.
- Foster a safe, compassionate, and client-centered environment for all.
- Track outcomes, supervise staff, manage schedules, and ensure effective communication across programs.
What You Bring
- Education:Bachelor’s degree in Human Services (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience:2-3 years of Individual shelter
experience
. - Background:Experience working directly with homeless populations, mental health, and substance use services.
- Leadership:A positive, hands-on leader who motivates through empathy and accountability.
- Skills:Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills; proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Other:Valid driver’s license, reliable insured vehicle; bilingual skills a plus.
