Plant Operator

Salary Range: $28.25 - $33.89 per hour

The City of Attleboro seeks a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator that is responsible for the inspection, maintenance and operation of the machinery and equipment used in the Wastewater Treatment Plant

Duties include:

Operates and maintains equipment including, electrically driven pumps, auxiliary machinery, and equipment. Maintains inspects, cleans, and lubricates, overhauls, and repairs machinery and equipment. Operates computerized control systems and local control panels, including taking readings from recording instruments and adjusting equipment as needed. Prepares operational logs. Operates solids handling equipment such as chemical feed pumps, sludge pumps and filter press equipment. Removes filter cake to staging area.

Maintains buildings and grounds in clean and orderly condition. Trains new personnel. Performs related work as required.

Requires high school diploma and two years of experience. Must be able to walk and stand for most of the work day. Position requires bending, stooping and lifting up to 60 pounds. Exposure to chemicals, toxic substances and plants. Must be able to work any shift in 24/7 operation of the plant.

Must have a Grade 4 Massachusetts Wastewater Treatment License and a valid Driver's License.
