Job Description & How to Apply Below
Industrial 3D Printing Technician, MJF Systems Help us turn powder into product. Empire Group is searching for a technician to champion the hands-on journey from completed Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) builds to production-ready parts. Guided by our Additive Manufacturing Technical Lead, you’ll manage post-processing with precision and keep work moving—while supporting FDM and SLA production when needed.

Why this role matters

Every project relies on flawless execution after the print finishes. You’ll own that critical window: organizing materials, executing post-processing, installing hardware, inspecting against requirements, and staging for the next operation. Your organization, documentation, and equipment care will keep our production dependable and predictable.

Your core responsibilities

Operate & prepare (MJF): support daily printing; prepare builds; assist with machine setup, operation, monitoring, and job staging.

Manage powders: safely load, recover, store, and organize polymer powders.

Transform prints: unpack builds; depowder, clean, bead blast, dye, sort, and stage parts.

Install hardware: place heat-set inserts and other hardware per drawings, work instructions, and quality requirements.

Inspect & verify: detect defects, damage, missing components, and dimensional inconsistencies during post-processing.

Follow the plan: adhere to work instructions, production travelers, quality standards, and scheduling priorities.

Organize flow: maintain clear staging zones for printed, cleaned, inspected, rework, and completed parts.

Care for equipment: perform routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, consumable changes, and readiness checks.

Document everything: maintain job status, quantities, scrap, rework, machine logs, insert counts, and post-processing notes.

Support other technologies: assist with FDM and SLA—part removal, support removal, resin cleaning, curing, sanding, and staging.

Collaborate across teams: work with finishing, painting, quality, and production personnel to keep throughput high.

Protect people & process: uphold PPE usage; follow equipment-safety, powder-handling, and housekeeping requirements.

Take on other additive manufacturing and production-support tasks as assigned.

What you bring

Hands-on background in manufacturing, production, machine operation, shop work, finishing, assembly, or a similar technical area.

Mechanical aptitude and ease with industrial equipment.

Strong attention to detail; able to follow written instructions reliably.

Skill with small parts; track quantities and keep multiple jobs organized.

Ability to recognize visible defects, damage, missing parts, installation problems, and related concerns.

Basic computer proficiency for job tracking, documentation, and production records.

Comfort working safely around powders, compressed air, heated tools, blasting equipment, and industrial machinery.

Dependable, organized, and effective independently or within a team.

Preferred experience

Prior work in additive manufacturing or industrial 3D printing.

Exposure to MJF, SLS, SLA, FDM, or similar processes.

Post-processing expertise: depowdering, bead blasting, dyeing, sanding, support removal, resin cleaning, curing.

Installation of heat-set inserts or other hardware in manufactured parts.

Ability to read production travelers, technical drawings, work instructions, and inspection requirements.

Experience in a quality-controlled manufacturing environment.

Familiarity with hand tools, shop equipment, heated tools, pallet jacks, and material-handling equipment.

Physical demands

Stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform hands-on work for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.

Lift and handle parts, powder containers, consumables, and production materials as required.

Carry out repetitive hand movements and detailed part-handling tasks.

Wear required PPE and work safely around powders, compressed air, heated tools, blasting equipment, resin systems, 3D printers, and other industrial equipment.

If you take pride in clean workflows, crisp finishes, and accurate documentation, you’ll have a big impact on our customers and our team.
