You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

About the role

The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The role involves determining donor eligibility to donate plasma, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist must be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment and follow guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs.

Center-level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS) is also part of the responsibilities.

How You Will Contribute
  • Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
  • Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and transport to emergency care facilities.
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
  • Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance.
  • Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
What you bring to Takeda
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate-level nursing program with state requirements.
  • Licensed or certified RN, NP, or PA in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Fulfilled state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Satisfactorily complete the FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation and Benefits Summary

U.S. hourly wage range: $38.72 – $53.24. The actual wage offered may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. U.S. employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives, medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well‑being benefits. U.S. employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
