Position: Registered Nurse Balfour Med/Surg 32 hour days (2-12 hour shifts and 1 8 hour shift)

Position Overview

The Registered Professional Nurse optimizes patient outcomes by delivering compassionate, collaborative, high-quality care in all age groups, cultures, psychosocial, spiritual, and disability concerns consistent with admission/discharge criteria of the assigned unit. The RN renders direct and indirect outcome nursing care through the nursing process, functions within policies, practice guidelines, and nursing standards of Sturdy Health in accordance with the Massachusetts Nurse Practice Act, CDC, OSHA standards, and other applicable regulatory or accreditation agencies.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required (Bachelor’s preferred for Cardiac Rehab).
  • New graduate nurses accepted for some positions.
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, interpersonal, organizational, and adaptability skills.
  • Command of verbal and written English preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Current Massachusetts state RN license.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • ACLS required with BLS for RN positions on Telemetry, ICU, ED, Cardiac Rehab, Endoscopy, LDRP, PACU, Med/Surg.
  • NRP required with ACLS and BLS for RNs on LDRP.
  • PALS required with ACLS and BLS for RNs on PACU and ED.
Essential Job Functions
  • Provide timely, positive responses to patients, families, co-workers, and physicians.
  • Collaborate to develop and implement individualized, coordinated care plans.
  • Regularly assess and record vital signs; gather and document medical history and symptoms.
  • Systematically assess for changes in condition, behavior, or response to treatment.
  • Administer medications according to orders and protocols.
  • Delegate care in accordance with Massachusetts Nurse Practice Act and Sturdy Health guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and nursing plans of care.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and families.
  • Respond to medical emergencies with first aid and appropriate interventions.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Operate medical equipment such as monitors, IV pumps, ventilators.
  • Participate in quality assessment and improvement initiatives.
  • Develop positive relationships across all areas of responsibility.
  • Serve as Charge Nurse when assigned.
  • Remain current on nursing practice and maintain licensure, certifications, and competencies.
  • Apply growth mindset, inquiry, and evidence-based practice.

  • Perform tasks requiring fine motor skills (injects, catheters, equipment operation).
  • Work in environments with communicable diseases, body fluids, noise, and stress.
  • Meet annual safety training requirements.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $35.88 – $55.56 per hour. The actual compensation will consider experience, skill set, and education. Benefits may include healthcare/dental/vision and retirement.
