Scheduled Weekly

Hours:

30 (10‑hour shifts). The work day is 10:00 am to 8:30 pm, every other weekend and holiday.

The Patient Placement Coordinator works under the general direction of the ACNO and collaborates closely with admitting, the Emergency Department (ED), and inpatient nursing leadership to maintain hospital access and assign patients to clinically appropriate beds. The coordinator manages phone calls related to patient placement and flow, uses hospital computer systems to support patient throughput, collaborates with patients, families, and staff from all admission sources, and utilizes web‑based tools to facilitate capacity management and communication among patient placement teams and nursing units.

The role requires an in‑depth knowledge of state‑mandated rules and regulations, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask. Responsibilities include running daily reports to support operational planning and reconciling multiple systems to confirm accurate placement data. The coordinator also provides support to the Patient Care Services Scheduling Coordinator as required and may function in that role on off shifts, holidays, and weekends.

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, data entry, and handling documents. Ability to lift and carry office supplies, files, or small packages up to 20 pounds. Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching as needed to complete office or front desk tasks. Clear verbal communication and active listening for patient, provider, and interdepartmental interactions.

Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in a busy office or clinical environment. Possible exposure to stressful situations involving patients, families, or staff. Infrequent exposure to hospital environmental factors such as proximity to patient care areas, which may involve contact with individuals experiencing illness.

Salary Range

$23.71‑$36.14 per hour. The pay range displayed on the job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking into consideration such factors as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education. This is not inclusive of the value Sturdy Health’s benefits package (if applicable), which includes healthcare/dental/vision and retirement.
