American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry Observation position at an acute care hospital in Massachusetts, requiring a valid MA RN license and a minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience.
Details- Work setting is a 10-bed telemetry observation unit within a 127-bed acute care hospital
- Patient population consists primarily of medical observation patients being ruled out for various diagnoses, typically with 24–48 hour stays, with occasional overflow surgical patients
- No medication drips administered on this unit
- Charting is performed in Cerner (experience preferred but not required)
- Schedule is nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- 2–3 weekend shifts (Saturday and/or Sunday) required per 6-week period
- On-call requirement of 5–6 night shifts per 6-week period (22:00–07:00)
- Floating within scope to Med/Surg Telemetry may be required to meet facility needs
- Block scheduling availability is determined by unit needs
- Local candidates are accepted
- Active MA RN license required and must be valid at time of consideration — pending licenses not accepted
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required; 3 years strongly preferred
- Must be able to function autonomously with strong telemetry skills
- Cardiac monitoring skills required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Epic or Cerner experience required for first-time travelers being considered
- SSN, DOB, and copy of certifications required for consideration
- All RTO requests must be finalized and submitted at time of consideration — no RTO will be added after signing
- First-time travelers will be considered with 2–3 years of telemetry experience and Epic or Cerner experience
- Candidates with prior permanent employment at this facility must wait a 1-year period before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Free parking is available in unrestricted spaces or in a lot across the street; additional parking details provided during orientation
- Scrub color is open (any color, no denim); OR/PACU scrubs are provided; case management staff wear business casual or scrubs
- Parking is free on day one in unrestricted spaces or in the lot across the street from the hospital
- Background checks are evaluated on a case-by-case basis
