Hours:

40 hours per week.

The Certified Nursing Assistant performs duties of direct and indirect patient care under the direction of the RN/LPN and as a member of the unit-based patient care team.

• Direct patient care tasks: activities of daily living, vital signs, glucometry, EKGs, weights, and intake/output data collection.
• Indirect patient care activities: transport, restocking, and obtaining patient care supplies.
• Respond in a timely manner to the needs of patients and family members and take a proactive role in the efficient operation of the unit.
• Function within policies, procedures and guidelines of Sturdy Memorial Hospital in accordance with Joint Commission, CDC and OSHA standards.

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills needed to assist in providing patient care.
• Good organizational skills, personal maturity, accuracy and flexibility.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and adaptability, creating a favorable image in relationship to the Nursing Department and the hospital as a whole.
• Ability to perform simple math calculations.
• Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships across all areas of responsibility.
• Visibly demonstrates commitment to customer relations and basic concepts of continuous quality improvement and preventing error from reaching the patient.
• Must possess command of verbal and written English.
• Must possess BLS certification.
• Must possess CNA certification.

High School Graduate or equivalent required;
Certification as a nursing assistant.

Must be able to effectively communicate to all age levels served within the scope of the position/assigned areas.

Must have the ability to perform essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves or other individuals in the workplace, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Hourly: $17.64 – $26.58.
