Responsibilities
The City of Attleboro Water Treatment Plant seeks a water plant repairman who, under the direction of the Water Superintendent, is responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment and vehicles used at the Water Treatment Plant as well as the Plant facilities. Duties include the repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment used in the distribution of drinking water including pumps, piping, valves, motors, and filters.
Grease and repair pumps, replace bearings and other worn parts and components of all specialized equipment. Perform maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and equipment including both gasoline and diesel engines and engine‑powered equipment. Perform tune‑ups, repair brake and electrical systems, perform clutch and transmission repairs. Perform minor auto body work and related welding. Perform preventive maintenance work and change tires and batteries.
Perform maintenance and repair of buildings and property including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical work not requiring a licensed electrician such as replacing cords and fuses. Participate in snow and ice program. Perform related duties as assigned.
High School diploma and one year experience repairing equipment, machinery and/or motor vehicles. Must have 2B Hoisting License and valid Driver’s License. Physically demanding position. Must be able to lift 100 lbs.
