Building Automation Technician

Job Overview

Hours:

40 hours – Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. On‑call once every 12 weeks.

Under the general direction of the Utilities Manager, perform a wide variety of repairs, overhaul, and servicing duties on hospital plant and equipment with emphasis on building automation equipment. Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with hospital and departmental policies, applicable codes, and best practices. Perform essential functions of the position, ensuring no direct threat to health and safety.

• Thorough understanding of HVAC and controls principles.
• Knowledge of a back‑net building automation system.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; climb ladders; access crawl spaces.
• Capability to work extra shifts and in harsh environments such as boiler rooms and mechanical spaces.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Refrigeration Technician license (preferred).
• Preferred:
  Ability to read and understand blueprints.

Hourly rate: $33.82 – $52.24, based on experience, skill set, and education. Benefits may include healthcare/dental/vision and retirement, subject to eligibility.
