Under the direction of the Principal, Career and Alternative Education Department, the teacher will be responsible for the teaching/learning environment of a County Community and Juvenile Court School which emphasizes academic, social and interpersonal skills related to career direction and vocational training. This position is included in the certificated bargaining unit and is subject to terms of the union agreement regarding membership, payment of like fee, or donation to recognized charity.
Education:
BA/BS Degree
Credentials and/or
Skills:
Valid CA Single Subject credential in the core academic area; OR Multiple Subject teaching credential. Valid CA driver's license and minimum amount of liability insurance required by law. A DMV Driver Record is required.
Experience:
Experience working with high-risk students in an educational setting where academic development is the primary activity. Experience teaching or counseling high-risk students in a court/community school. Experience developing curriculum and relating vocational needs to developmental skills.
