Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support accounting operations for an automotive manufacturing organization in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for someone who can manage core accounting activities, contribute to accurate financial reporting, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The role offers the opportunity to apply strong general ledger and journal entry experience while assisting with key accounting projects and monthly close activities.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate and timely financial records.

- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances to support reliable reporting.

- Assist with month-end close procedures, including account analysis and supporting schedules.

- Support the transfer and validation of financial data from Quick Books into Epicor Kinetic to help ensure a smooth accounting system implementation.

- Use Microsoft Excel to organize financial information, analyze transactions, and prepare reporting documents.

- Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and complete additional finance-related assignments as needed. Requirements - 2+ years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role.

- Hands-on experience preparing journal entries and working within the general ledger.

- Familiarity with Epicor, including Epicor ERP or Epicor Kinetic, is preferred.

- Practical experience using Quick Books in a business accounting environment.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for analysis, reconciliation, and reporting tasks.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy.
