A great UHY client is seeking a Sr. Analyst, Technical Accounting to join their team. This role will focus on technical accounting, SEC reporting, and accounting research while supporting complex accounting areas and providing guidance on key financial matters within a publicly traded organization.
The Sr. Analyst, Technical Accounting role is a hybrid position based in Auburn Hills, MI. This is a permanent opportunity offering strong career growth, exposure to complex accounting topics, and the ability to work alongside an experienced leadership team within a highly regarded organization.
Sr. Analyst, Technical Accounting Responsibilities- Support technical accounting matters including research, analysis, and documentation of complex transactions
- Assist with SEC reporting and ensure compliance with public company requirements
- Prepare and review accounting memos related to technical topics such as derivatives, pensions, and other complex areas
- Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate accounting implications of business activities
- Assist in the implementation and interpretation of new accounting standards
- Support month-end and quarter-end close processes related to technical accounting areas
- Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Collaborate with external auditors and support audit requests as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA required
- Public company experience required
- 3+ years of public accounting experience (Big 4 or large regional firm preferred)
- Experience with SEC reporting, technical accounting, and accounting research required
- Exposure to complex accounting areas such as derivatives and pensions preferred
- Combination of public accounting and industry experience a plus
- Experience with One Stream or similar systems preferred
- Demonstrated technical accounting strength and ability to research and document accounting conclusions
- Strong communication skills and career-driven mindset with desire for growth
- Stable work history preferred
