Position: Accounting Specialist (CAS)

Become an integral part of our client service team as an Accounting Specialist at Hare CPAs + Business Advisors. You’ll assist with preparing financial statements, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate records while applying advanced accounting principles in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

About Us: Hare CPAs + Business Advisors is a community-focused CPA and business advisory firm serving small- and medium-sized businesses. Our primary focus is tax, accounting and business advisory services. We specialize in health care, creative agencies, service providers & construction/real estate, however we work with businesses outside of these industries also.

We coordinate our team and network of professionals to ensure the right person is on the right project. When a project requires a skillset beyond our own, we have a qualified network of other CPAs, banks, attorneys, valuation firms, investment firms, staffing firms and operational experts we call on to assist.

A day in the life of a Hare CPAs Accounting Specialist

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) –

  • Assist in preparing financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for clients
  • Process accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll for clients
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements
  • Assist in gathering information from clients to prepare financial statements and tax returns
  • Enter financial data into Quick Books and maintain accurate records
  • Assist senior accountants with special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Learn and apply accounting principles, GAAP, and financial reporting standards
  • Develop skills in financial analysis and problem-solving
  • Adhere to our Firm’s policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in Quick Books (online and desktop) and Excel
  • Basic knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting principles
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Essential Functions of the Job

In the course of performing this work, an employee must be able to:

  • Engage in logical reasoning, interpreting, and responding.
  • Spend substantial time sitting and operating a computer (read, write, and type), with periods of standing, speaking, and listening.
  • Sustain lengthy conversations in person, via telephone and via video conference.
  • Lift up to 10 lbs. periodically.
  • Occasionally travel overnight (less than 5% travel).
