Position Overview

The Admissions Assistant will provide office support for all aspects of the admissions and enrollment process. The Assistant serves as the first point of contact for Admissions and will provide excellent service to prospective and current students.

Responsibilities
  • Provide information to prospective students regarding the admissions and application process.
  • Respond to phone, email, and chat inquiries.
  • Give campus tours and meet with prospects.
  • Process applications and required documents using application systems such as BANNER and other university systems.
  • Generate reports for processing and collate files for review; create electronic admissions files.
  • Troubleshoot problems with individual applications and contact applicants as necessary.
  • Enter and process admissions decisions; generate decision letters and emails.
  • Follow up with decisions and maintain LLS application status checker.
  • Create emails, flyers, and invitations for prospective students; assist with events as needed.
  • Create and modify newsletters for admits and applicants.
  • Update general Admissions web pages.
  • Assist with special projects and events.
  • Register and maintain information for recruitment events; coordinate and ship materials; recruit at local graduate and law school fairs (some travel may be required).
  • Take appointment requests for Associate Dean, Director, and Assistant Directors of Admissions.
  • Pick up and process mail daily.
  • Order office supplies and keep track of office inventory.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • The Law School reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Qualifications
  • Typically, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience providing administrative support in an admissions office or other area of higher education is preferred.
  • Some knowledge of standard office procedures, word processing, spreadsheet, email and databases (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with a variety of people.
  • Ability to learn quickly, work with multiple supervisors, and perform several job duties simultaneously with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills; poise and professionalism necessary to represent the university independently before a variety of constituencies.
Compensation

Staff Regular Salary range: $22.26 - $26.68 per hour. Salary commensurate with education and experience. Please note that this position may not be eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Physical Demands

Constantly required to sit, use finger movement, speak clearly, hear conversation, and see near and far. Frequently required to stand and walk. Occasionally required to lift, carry, and push up to 25 lbs., stoop, kneel, reach high and low, and use depth perception.
