Segment Manager, Service Robotics

The Segment Manager, Service Robotics will have the opportunity to lead global and local commercial and operations teams within the ABB Robotics Services Business Segment. Each day, you will be accountable for the commercial deployment as well as the day-to-day operations of the organization within your assigned geographical scope. You will also showcase your expertise by leading the design and implementation of both the business commercial and customer-focused operations strategies.

The work model for the role is: #LI-Remote in the US with a preference for candidates located near Auburn Hills, MI.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Ensures the integrated commercial and operational success of the organization in order to drive business growth, market share, and achievement of organizational performance and growth objectives.
  • Creating, implementing, reviewing, and relentlessly executing the business commercial strategy, industry segment strategy, go-to-market model and customer-focused operations strategy with responsibility for financial and non-financial targets.
  • Leads a sustainable and effective value-chain, from supplier to customer and from order to delivery (products, projects, and service).
  • Drives appropriate, productivity optimization, and capital efficiency with special focus areas such as profitability, demand analysis, cost-to-serve, channel profitability and Return on Investment.
  • Leads an efficient daily operation and performance of segment proposal and application engineering to ensure accurate and winning proposals to customers. Uses product knowledge and manages team to appropriate risk and liabilities in line with acceptable business risk and ABB guidelines.
  • Maintains, develops, and expands segment customer base and leverages capability to new customers and partners.

Qualifications for the Role:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering, Biotechnology, Biology or equivalent field.
  • 7+ years' applicable experience related to operations, sales, business development and commercial leadership strategy; prior experience in Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare, Food Service and/or laboratory environments highly preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across geographies and different business levels; experience in a highly matrixed organization is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and commercial acumen with proven business development experience; action-oriented and results-driven mindset.
  • Possess strong leadership and team working skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.
  • English fluency; additional languages are a plus.
  • Applicants must possess work authorization to work permanently in the United States.
