Qualifications
  • Valid State Teacher Certification granted by the Professional Teaching Standards Board.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with preferred endorsements in Integrated Science (DI) or Science (DX), or DA and DC endorsements.
  • Evidence of ability to establish working relationships that result in mutual respect.
  • Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication.
  • Strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
  • Job Goal

    The primary purpose of this position is to motivate each pupil to acquire knowledge of scientific facts and principles, and skills in scientific methods of problem solving; to discover and develop special talents of pupils in scientific fields.

    Teaching Performance Responsibilities
  • Works cooperatively with administrators, student services personnel and teachers, to ensure the delivery of curriculum.
  • Assist students with selection of appropriate science courses.
  • Provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil, to the extent feasible.
  • Maintains control of storage and use of school‑owned property.
  • Maintains professional competence through in‑service education activities provided by the district, and/or in self‑selected professional growth activities.
  • Communicates with parents and school counselors on pupil progress.
  • Participates in curriculum and other developmental programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by the principal.
