Qualifications:
- Valid state teacher certification granted by the Professional Teaching Standards Board.
- Bachelor's degree with preferred endorsements in Integrated Science (DI) or Science (DX), or DA and DC endorsements.
- Evidence of ability to establish working relationships that result in mutual respect.
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication.
- Strong interpersonal and public relations skills.

Job goal:
The primary purpose of this position is to motivate each pupil to acquire knowledge of scientific facts and principles, and skills in scientific methods of problem solving; to discover and develop special talents of pupils in scientific fields.
Teaching performance responsibilities:
- Works cooperatively with administrators, student services personnel and teachers, to ensure the delivery of curriculum.
- Assist students with selection of appropriate science courses.
- Provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil, to the extent feasible.
- Maintains control of storage and use of school-owned property.
- Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district, and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.
- Communicates with parents and school counselors on pupil progress.
- Participates in curriculum and other developmental programs.
- Other duties as assigned by the principal.
