Salary Range: $17,000.00 To $17,100.00 Annually
Position ProfileWe are looking for a Part time Instructional Aide to teach Language Arts and Math to our 5th grade Spanish Immersion students. The hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am-12:30 pm.
General ResponsibilitiesInstruction
- Teach 5th Grade Spanish Language Arts and Mathematics during assigned morning instructional blocks.
- Deliver engaging, standards-based lessons using the approved curriculum and instructional materials.
- Maintain Spanish as the primary language of instruction during Spanish Immersion classes.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the academic and language needs of students.
- Provide small-group and individual support as needed.
- Monitor student understanding and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Prepare weekly lesson plans aligned with the curriculum and grade-level learning objectives.
- Submit weekly lesson plans to the Elementary Principal and Spanish Immersion Coordinator by the designated deadline.
- Collaborate with the classroom teacher and Spanish Immersion Coordinator to ensure continuity of instruction.
- Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date grades for:
- 5th Grade Spanish Language Arts
- 5th Grade Mathematics
- Enter grades and assessment data into Schoology in a timely manner.
- Enter standards/skills and grades into the report card system.
- Complete report card grades for Spanish Language Arts and Mathematics.
- Write individualized report card comments that accurately communicate each student's academic progress and growth.
- Ensure all grading and reporting deadlines are met.
- Send a weekly classroom communication to parents through Parent Square
, highlighting instructional objectives, classroom activities, upcoming assessments, important dates, and reminders. - Communicate professionally and promptly with parents regarding student progress when appropriate.
- Maintain positive and respectful communication that supports strong school-home partnerships.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and Christ-centered classroom environment.
- Support classroom management and reinforce school expectations.
- Prepare and organize instructional materials as needed.
- Supervise students during morning recess
, ensuring student safety and appropriate behavior. - Assist with other classroom responsibilities as assigned.
- Collaborate regularly with the classroom teacher, Elementary Principal, and Spanish Immersion Coordinator.
- Participate in staff meetings, planning meetings, and professional development as requested. **
- Support the goals and initiatives of the Spanish Immersion Program.
