Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical understanding of chassis and suspension systems, including design, development and release processes.
- Must have engineering design experience with stamped or cast steel and/or aluminum components for Chassis and/or Suspension applications.
- Must have a strong background with Subframes and/or Control Arms, GD&T, Physical Validation and Corrosion Protection.
- Ability to lead product design and development and to coordinate design reviews.
- Ability to design for manufacturability and assembly.
- Must have understanding of CAD and CAE activities.
- Must have experience with product engineering deliverables for APQP such as DFMEA and DVP&R.
- Must have knowledge of designing and a thorough understanding of bolted joints, bushings and/or ball joints.
- Must have experience with leading, planning, and tracking engineering activities including risk assessment, budgetary performance, and program timing.
- Must be able to work in a cross-functional environment.
- Must have experience with identifying opportunities for improvements in engineering practices to obtain increased operational efficiencies.
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or Industrial Engineering or similar, and 5-10 years related experience in automotive design and manufacturing.
