Key Responsibilities:Mechatronics Design and Release Engineer (DRE) will be responsible for the design, development, packaging, testing, and release of the Integrated Center Stack (ICS) Switch bank. This role requires close collaboration with cross‑functional stakeholders to define both component‑level and vehicle‑level functional specifications.
- Design and develop automotive interior switches including headlamp, ride mode, heated seat, and multifunction switch systems.
- Own component lifecycle from concept, design, validation, and release to production.
- Review customer requirements and translate them into engineering specifications.
- Lead technical communication with customers and suppliers to resolve design and manufacturing issues.
- Create and maintain DFMEA and support risk mitigation activities.
- Develop 3D models and 2D drawings using CATIA V5.
- Interpret CAE/stress analysis results and implement design improvements.
- Perform tolerance stack‑ups and apply GD&T to ensure fit, function, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to assess feasibility and support production readiness.
- Lead tooling reviews, prototype builds, and design correction loops.
- Support testing and quality teams in troubleshooting and resolving product concerns.
- Travel to supplier and assembly plants to support launch activities when required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in automotive component design, preferably interior switches or electromechanical components.
- Strong understanding of automotive product development and release processes.
- Hands‑on experience with DFMEA, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing methods.
- Proficiency in CATIA V5.
- Experience working with suppliers and cross‑functional engineering teams.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience in a DRE or product ownership role.
- Familiarity with CAE tools and tooling processes.
- Exposure to global engineering environments.
- Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience.
