Mechanical Engineer – Respiratory Protection
OverviewSeeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and sustainment of respiratory protection products. This role partners closely with Product Management, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to deliver high-quality products while meeting customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Design plastic and rubber injection-molded components and assemblies
- Create and maintain 2D/3D CAD, drawings, and Bills of Materials (Solid Works preferred)
- Translate customer and regulatory requirements into engineering specifications and validation plans
- Support product development projects from concept through production
- Perform product testing, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Work directly with suppliers and manufacturing on technical issues and process improvements
- Maintain engineering documentation and configuration control
- Support Sales/Marketing with technical data and assist with bids and custom designs as needed
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 7+ years of design/manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of injection molding, DFM, BOM creation, and GD&T
- Experience with ERP systems such as Epicor or IFS preferred
- Familiarity with ISO systems, lean manufacturing, and FEA a plus
- Experience with certifications like NFPA and NIOSH strongly preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in teams
- English fluency required;
French a plus - Willingness to travel internationally (~25%)
