Test Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Test Engineer responsible for developing new programs and troubleshooting issues within test equipment. The focus will be on inspection equipment for end products, including Automated X-Ray Inspection (AXI) and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machines. This role is crucial as testing is the final step in the assembly process before product completion.
Responsibilities
* Perform machine program backups.
* Maintain and adjust programs for all automated inspection machines.
* Report data to Engineering and Manufacturing for machine inspection programs.
* Train equipment and repair station operators on automated inspection equipment.
* Support resolution of program-related issues and assist off-shift Machine Support.
* Monitor and maintain the operation of automated inspection equipment.
* Troubleshoot machine-related and process-related issues.
* Perform calibrations and preventive maintenance.
* Maintain spare parts database, stock, and order spare parts.
* Assist in line move qualification process.
* Cross-train with other imaging technicians on programming best practices, hardware maintenance, and troubleshooting.
* Investigate and create closed-loop feedback from imaging equipment.
* Attend daily team meetings to resolve program-related problems and drive corrective action.
* Support evaluation of new equipment and programming tools, assist in preparing equipment purchase proposals.
* Edit, debug, and optimize inspection programs.
* Work safely and comply with Environmental Health and Safety standards and work practices.
Essential Skills
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
* At least 2 years of experience working with AXI or AOI equipment or other automated equipment.
* Troubleshooting experience with equipment.
* Ability to read schematics and understand blueprints.
* Understanding of manufacturing processes and experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Ability to fix mechanical issues on the floor.
* Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
* Previous medical device experience.
* Robotics experience.
* Knowledge of ISO standards.
Work Environment
The primary workstation is located in the office area, with daily activities on the manufacturing floor. Work hours are 7am - 3:30pm, mainly 40 hours a week, with flexibility for a second shift. The environment is collaborative, with teams of engineers and techs working together to solve challenges. The culture is energetic, positive, and supportive, fostering a close-knit team atmosphere.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn Hills, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr.
