We are hiring an Application Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI. This hybrid role requires three to four days onsite at our Auburn Hills office.

• Review customer technical specifications and requirements to prepare System Concepts, Costs, Risk Assessments, and Proposal Documents that define the content and functionality of the proposed Scope of Work.
• Apply practical conformance to JRA Corporate Practices, Procedures and Tools specifically developed for the Applications Engineering Department.
• Coordinate and execute large multi‑business unit quotes.
• Manage core customers.
• Develop internal win strategy and execution, understand customer pain points, and facilitate quote package development toward a winning package.
• Generate and render conceptual solutions for customer problems that may have no previous or standard solutions in various CAD formats.
• Facilitate concept brainstorming and lead docket review meetings with minimal need for support from higher‑level AEs.
• Coordinate and schedule preliminary and final reviews of audience quote packages, including internal and external assessments of concept solutions, cycle time charts, flow charts, risk assessments, system costs, proposed delivery schedules, and potential customer requirements requiring management attention.
• Conduct reviews with minimal need for support from higher‑level AEs.
• Develop proposals that clearly and completely define the proposed Scope of Work, rate of production, machine buy‑off requirements, customer part requirements through all project phases, and include appropriate assumptions and exceptions.
• Aid in the mentorship of less experienced Apps Engineers, co‑ops and interns.
• Support Account Managers by ensuring pain points and competitive advantages are leveraged into proposals.
• Travel independently or with an Account Manager.
• Present independently in meetings to internal functional team members, upper‑level management, and customers.
• Maintain assignment‑specific AE related fields in company CRM.
• Schedule and facilitate Project Kickoff Meetings for PEP.
• Support functional team members by facilitating required tollgate meetings for awarded work and consulting with the PM for scope variation.
• Attend early‑phase project design reviews to ensure conformance to "As Sold" Scope of Work.

• 5+ years of industry experience leading successful projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field or related industry experience.
• Mechanical or Mechatronics engineer strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in all Applications Engineering processes and tools.
• Background in automated manufacturing or industrial systems is preferred, with experience in Press/Stamping, Aerospace/Defense, General Industry/Consumer Goods Automation, Tire & Wheel Assembly, Energy (Battery Assembly), or Automotive General Automation considered highly relevant.
• Experience in sales and/or customer interaction.

• Successful completion of a 10‑panel drug screen, physical examination, and background check.
