Design and Release Engineer Hot End Exhaust
This position will be responsible for the design, development, timing, and production release of a vehicle line Exhaust System and/or underbody heat shields. Other responsibilities include quality improvements, value optimization, weight reduction, and other efficiency improvement initiatives, including communicating technical product status to management.
The Design Release Engineer will interact with suppliers and will work closely with internal and external groups such as testing and prototype labs, CAE engineers, the vehicle program team, supplier operations, and manufacturing plants.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study is required.
- Proficiency in English (write, listen, and speak) is required.
- Must be from an ABET accredited university or equivalent. BSME preferred.
- 3+ years of design/development automotive engineering experience in chassis or powertrain systems and components (internship experience may be considered).
- Self‑starter with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills and demonstrated problem‑solving ability.
- Automotive experience preferred; product engineering experience preferred.
- Prototype experience preferred.
- Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA) preferred; experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) preferred.
- Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Green Belt certification preferred.
- Solid understanding of system/component design preferred.
- General understanding of NX, Team Center, and CoDeP preferred.
- Experience in Formula SAE, Baja, or similar collegiate projects would be beneficial.
