This Student Co‑Op position is located on site in Auburn Hills, MI, supporting the Supply Chain Management activities of the Senior Global Commodity Manager for Semiconductors.
Key Responsibilities- Support Global Commodity Managers (GCMs) with global data collection, validation, and analysis to inform sourcing and negotiation activities.
- Assist with RFI/RFQ events by gathering quotations, consolidating technical responses, and preparing clear comparison summaries.
- Prepare and organize negotiation and contract documentation with strong attention to detail.
- Coordinate with regional and cross‑functional teams (engineering, finance, operations) to support commodity initiatives such as cost reduction, P2P improvements, and continuous improvement projects.
- Support supplier performance reviews, including assessments, Q preparation, and follow‑up on open items with suppliers and regional teams.
- Contribute to procurement benchmarking and help implement best practices that improve efficiency and standardization.
- Monitor supply market trends and support forecasting and specification aggregation for strategic planning.
- Assist with contingency planning and communication during supply disruptions (e.g., semiconductor‑related events).
- Identify and help optimize manual or repetitive processes by improving data workflows, reporting formats, and tools used by the commodity team.
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Engineering, Business, or other relevant fields.
- Candidate must be able to work onsite in Auburn Hills, MI.
- Able to work 20–32 hours per week during the Fall and Winter semesters while maintaining full‑time student status (12+ credits for undergraduates; program requirements for graduate students).
- Able to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
- Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Products (Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Candidate must have a result‑driven mindset in a complex environment.
- Candidate must have the right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship.
