Job Overview

Join a dynamic and collaborative team supporting critical Circular Economy and Parts Recovery initiatives within a leading automotive organization. This role plays a key part in driving material recovery, reducing scrap exposure, improving sustainability efforts, and maximizing financial recovery across powertrain and non-powertrain commodities.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with strong project management, quality, supplier coordination, and analytical experience in an automotive or industrial environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and external suppliers while contributing to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

What’s the Job?
  • Oversee Circular Economy part recovery activities for plant scrap material across powertrain and non-powertrain commodities
  • Coordinate cross-functional decision-making related to reuse, repurpose, repair, harvest-for-core, or recycle pathways
  • Manage repair and recovery suppliers, including onboarding, scope definition, quality expectations, performance reviews, and corrective actions
  • Lead quality assurance activities to ensure recovered and repaired parts meet specifications, traceability, packaging, and labeling requirements
  • Support supplier and process audits while managing documentation, follow-up actions, and closure of findings
  • Coordinate disposition activities related to Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), supersessions, and overseas stakeholder alignment
  • Develop and standardize work instructions, reporting processes, and operational controls
  • Analyze inventory, warranty, quality, and obsolescence data to prioritize recovery opportunities
  • Communicate recovery status, risks, and recommendations to leadership teams
  • Mentor junior analysts and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, ERP/MRP systems, and reporting tools to manage operational activities and reporting
What’s Needed?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in parts recovery, remanufacturing, quality, supplier management, plant operations, or related automotive/industrial environments
  • 1–2 years of strong project management experience
  • Working knowledge of part lifecycle management concepts including change notices, supersessions, and obsolescence
  • Familiarity with quality systems including inspection, nonconformance management, and corrective actions
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and external suppliers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large data sets
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, supplier claim portals, or material disposition tools preferred
  • Knowledge of Circular Economy programs, core management, repair/reuse, or plant scrap recovery preferred
  • Familiarity with quality tools such as 8D, 5-Why, Pareto Analysis, and FMEA preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to leadership
  • Strong attention to detail, stakeholder management, and continuous improvement mindset
