Staff Accountant
FATA Automation, Inc., located in Auburn Hills, is seeking a full‑time Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate will be results oriented with a general understanding of accounting processes related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger. The position will encompass a wide variety of responsibilities, including the following:
- Prepare and process AIA billings, subcontractor pay request, sworn statements and waivers.
- Record cash receipts in accounting system.
- Make collection calls on past due accounts.
- Setup projects with budgets.
- Assist with accounts payable processes.
- Cash management.
- Assist with month‑end closing procedures.
- Prepare weekly cash flow projections.
Position requires a responsible, professional and detail-oriented individual possessing strong organization and communication skills. Experience with Acumatica software is a plus.
Education & Experience- Preferred college degree with a concentration in accounting or equivalent work experience.
- This position will be full‑time 40 hours Monday‑Friday, core office hours are 8:00am‑5:00pm with some flexibility on start and end times.
Direct Supervisor:
Mechanical Engineering Manager
- Experience in detailed system and component mechanical design (conveyor experience preferred)
- Proficient 2‑D AutoCAD experience is required
- Solid Works or Inventor 3‑D design experience preferred (FEA is a plus).
- The ability to quickly concept cost effective solutions to a customer’s requirements/changes
- Ability to perform design calculations (i.e. drive sizing, machine elements, structural elements, etc.)
- Preparing Excel spreadsheets – capable of writing formulas
- Must be well organized and have a keen sense of urgency
- Able to prioritize several concurrent projects in order to meet schedule milestones
- Generate engineering release requisitions
- Documentation control
- Drawing checking
- Candidate will be a great team player who works well with our customers, company management and the project team
- Lead a team of mechanical engineers designing all types of conveyor components and systems
- Interface with project engineering/management to verify equipment requirements
- Liaising with electrical and software engineers and vendors in product development
- Attending design reviews, and customer job‑site meetings, when required
- Travel to customer meetings, manufacturing vendors or job sites.
- Provide technical support to project managers, equipment assemblers and site supervisors
- CAD Design, development and engineering from a conceptual idea.
- Perform duties of the mechanical engineer or designer when requested
- Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years Engineering Experience designing and implementing in the conveyor / automated material handling system
- Knowledge of structural steel elements, material handling and production systems
Direct Supervisor:
Vice President of Engineering
- Efficient in 2‑D AutoCAD (AutoCAD/Inventor 3‑D experience preferred)
- Detailed system/component design practices (Conveyor experience preferred)
- Thorough understanding of VFD motor control, Allen Bradley Controls, Control RSLogix 5000, Armorstart Motor Controllers, Powerflex Drives, Device Net and Ethernet communications, PLC programming, Control Logix and Guard Logix programming, and Panelview programming.
- Generate engineering requisitions

- E‑plan experience is a plus
- Coordinate and direct projects. Making detailed plans to accomplish goals and direct the integration of technical activities with assigned mechanical engineers and designers.
- Analyze technology and resource needs to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
- Plan the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
- Direct, review, and approve product design and changes.
- Recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
