Job Overview
Akkodis is seeking a Calibration Engineer for a 12+ month contract position in Auburn Hills, MI.
Pay Range
: $47/hr to $52/hr on W2. The pay may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
- Develop diagnostic calibrations that meet all regulatory, safety, quality, and service requirements.
- Ensure appropriate testing is defined, planned, and completed to validate all diagnostic features.
- Lead cross‑functional teams to determine root cause and solutions for development, fast feedback, and customer vehicle diagnostic issues.
- Work with conventional and electrified transmissions that require a diverse set of technical skills.
- Guide instrumentation of electrical and physical systems, utilize and review data from acquisition software (INCA) to ensure desired diagnostic behavior.
- Gather functional requirements and required milestones to plan and execute development for on‑time successful product launches.
- Expect to travel 2‑4 weeks throughout the year for system validation/verification.
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in OBD, transmission or emissions calibration or controls.
- Desire to work both in and out of test vehicles.
- Proficient using INCA, Matlab, and Simulink/Stateflow.
- Understanding of the goals of On‑Board Diagnostics.
- Functional understanding of transmission design and operation.
- Basic proficiency with key components of an electrified propulsion system.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and business acumen.
- Self‑motivated, proactive with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database applications.
- Master’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 7 years' experience in OBD calibration, propulsion system component calibration, or related controls within electric, gasoline, or diesel industry.
- Experience with INCA, Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, Minitab, C++, and Visual Basic.
