Calibration Engineer

Job Overview

Akkodis is seeking a Calibration Engineer for a 12+ month contract position in Auburn Hills, MI.

Pay Range
: $47/hr to $52/hr on W2. The pay may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

• Develop diagnostic calibrations that meet all regulatory, safety, quality, and service requirements.
• Ensure appropriate testing is defined, planned, and completed to validate all diagnostic features.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to determine root cause and solutions for development, fast feedback, and customer vehicle diagnostic issues.
• Work with conventional and electrified transmissions that require a diverse set of technical skills.
• Guide instrumentation of electrical and physical systems, utilize and review data from acquisition software (INCA) to ensure desired diagnostic behavior.
• Gather functional requirements and required milestones to plan and execute development for on‑time successful product launches.
• Expect to travel 2‑4 weeks throughout the year for system validation/verification.

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in OBD, transmission or emissions calibration or controls.
• Desire to work both in and out of test vehicles.
• Proficient using INCA, Matlab, and Simulink/Stateflow.
• Understanding of the goals of On‑Board Diagnostics.
• Functional understanding of transmission design and operation.
• Basic proficiency with key components of an electrified propulsion system.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and business acumen.
• Self‑motivated, proactive with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to operate independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database applications.

• Master’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 7 years' experience in OBD calibration, propulsion system component calibration, or related controls within electric, gasoline, or diesel industry.
• Experience with INCA, Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, Minitab, C++, and Visual Basic.
