Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Coordinate testing and prototype activities, serving as a key member of the Development Team (EAK / DTM) and representing the test/prototype group.
• Influence product design and development to ensure suitability for end usage, conforming to customer requirements and specifications.
• Release product through Test Releases (TR0, TR1, and TR2).
• Plan and execute test/prototype activities at the project level in accordance with technical agreements with the Development Team (DTM, EAK) and counterparts.
• Write test reports with clear assessments and recommendations, including follow‑up; delegate where appropriate but remain responsible for checking and ensuring correctness. Approve Test Reports created by Test Engineers or Test & Prototype Technicians.
• Issue formal Test Releases according to project timing and coordinate risk assessments as part of Test Releases and Release meetings.
• Participate in acquisition and development stages to ensure compliance or identify deviations from specifications and customer expectations; deliver specification reviews and identify risks to the team.
• Maintain document control of test data, reports, releases, and related documentation.
• Actively participate in Development Team Meetings (EAK), representing test conformance according to Brose procedures and standards, and attend formal design/engineering reviews such as Design Checklist, DFMEA, and specification review.
• Attend customer and supplier visits, and negotiate specifications, test plans (DVP&R), and test results.
• Perform all necessary tests on products in accordance with test plans, procedures, and specifications (customer/Brose).
• Ensure quality, effectiveness, cleanliness, and keep the department area in order.

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four‑year college or university; or five years minimum related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Specialized knowledge and skills including:
  Test and Prototype Calculation;
  Test Release 0‑2, DVP&R / PVP&R; Q‑Gates, Project Reviews, Design Check for TR0‑2;
  Lab Cleanliness and Environmental Chambers;
  Durability Controllers;
  Data Acquisition; BNA Machine Shop; UTS (SATS); MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook);
  Root Cause Analysis;
  Test Reports; SAP; TIRs;
