Position: Senior Regulations and Compliance Engineer- 4147415

Senior Regulations and Compliance Engineer Duties

  • Provide internal support for engine/vehicle emissions testing requests for regulatory information from FEV engineers working on various emissions‑related projects.
  • Create calibration reports of instruments and analyzers present in the test cell; check compliance with regulations used for corresponding emissions tests and generate written reports that support test results.
  • Develop new ideas, concepts, and approaches for new emissions projects and ensure appropriate documentation is available: analyze and document existing processes and workflows; understand and improve existing processes and workflows; establish a database containing documentation and work instructions.
  • Stay abreast of proposed regulation changes; understand rule making processes and communicate proposed regulation changes, including reviewing, understanding, and interpreting text of the Code of Federal Regulations and summarizing legal documentation.
  • Collaborate with project teams to determine requirements and develop certification plans for new and existing projects; present in public forums.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 24 months of experience in a related position.
  • Experience understanding and interpreting engine and vehicle data.
  • Experience using a regulatory framework to correlate data and requirements.
  • Experience distinguishing between criteria pollutants and their formation mechanisms.
  • Experience applying thermodynamic fundamentals of combustion engine operation.
  • Experience applying calibration requirements for measurement equipment.
  • Must have legal right to work in the United States.
