Overview
Environmental Test Engineer - OBD Production Vehicle Evaluation
Location:
Auburn Hills, Michigan
- The Production Vehicle Evaluation (PVE) test program validates that On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) systems are functioning properly on production-level vehicles.
- The OBD PVE Test Engineer is responsible for the acquisition, preparation and testing of production vehicles.
- Demonstrate diagnostic functionality by invoking faults, collecting data and verifying appropriate detection.
- Collaborate with OBD calibration and certification teams to resolve open questions or concerns.
- In addition to PVE responsibilities, support other tailpipe, EVAP or OBD test programs as needed.
- This is an onsite position at the Chrysler Technology Center in Auburn Hills, MI. Occasional off-shift/weekend test support may be required.

RequirementsBasic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive testing (emphasis on emissions, fuel economy or OBD)
- Demonstrated organizational/tracking skills requiring management of multiple vehicles through a complex testing process
- Strong computer skills with a focus on data analysis (MS Excel and data processing/analysis tools)
- Knowledge of North American emissions regulations, testing and certification processes/procedures
- Ability to work onsite with non-bargaining unit and bargaining unit personnel in labs and garages
- Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with powertrain and vehicle development teams
- Hybrid and/or Electric vehicle testing experience is a plus
- Propulsion system calibration or aftertreatment system experience is desired
- Experience with vehicle diagnostics and CAN data collection
- Exposure to corporate software applications (test request/processing system, calibration tools & applications, etc.)
