HIL Test Engineer

Location:

Auburn Hills, MI

Position:
Fulltime

Execution of various activities related to the design, development, and delivery of Hardware-in-loop (HIL) Virtual Simulation platforms used for Propulsion System & EE development, testing, and validation:

• Execute circuit/wiring upgrades within HIL systems
• Build new wire harnesses and implement design changes to existing harnesses. Repair broken equipment (e.g.: HIL Wiring)
• Prepare wire harness and load box kits based on HIL Hardware engineers' design
• Commissioning of new harnesses and load boxes, assist HW Engineer in resolving HW related issues.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience with Bachelors degree or 3+ years and Master's degree
• Basic knowledge of electrical & electronics circuits and components
• Ability to study & understand electrical & electronic schematic & layout
• Exposure to electrical test equipment including but not limited to power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers etc.
• Exposure to AutoCAD Electrical, or similar electrical CAD software
• Exposure to automation in an industrial/manufacturing environment
• Ability to be flexible and responsive
• Good verbal communication skills

Preferred:

• Understanding of working principle of power electronic devices used in electric vehicle
• Understanding of communication protocols like Automotive Ethernet, CAN, LIN etc.
• Knowledge of safety and EMI requirements related to high power applications
• Experienced/Understanding in Functional Testing, End of Line Testing etc.
• Good software & hardware troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge in processes like GR&R, Cpk etc.

Education:

• Minimum – BE/BS in the areas of Electrical/ Instrumentation Engineering or comparable Engineering degree
