Job Role s and Responsibilities
Collaborate with engineers and designers on project development and execution.
Analyze engineering drawings ranging from individual components to complete design systems.
Review structural steel and fixture designs for accuracy and compliance.
Prepare technical reports and engineering documentation.
Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and regulations.
Identify and resolve technical issues, risks, and design challenges.
Provide engineering certification and serve as Engineer of Record.
Support manufacturing personnel during assembly and implementation when required.
Conduct field measurements and provide technical supervision for off-site projects.
Support quality initiatives and company engineering standards.
Participate in project reviews and engineering validation activities.
Qualifications and CertificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) License required (Michigan PE preferred or equivalent).
Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience.
Experience with 3D CAD software such as Solid Works, CATIA, or NX.
Experience with 2D AutoCAD drafting and design.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings and design documentation.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with engineering project execution and design certification.
Ability to travel when required and perform field measurements.
Valid driver's license and passport.
Preferred QualificationsExperience with ergonomic lift systems and material handling equipment.
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Knowledge of overhead rail systems and steel layout placement.
Experience with concrete structures.
Shop-floor exposure to welding and machining operations.
Experience serving as Engineer of Record.
