Design Release Engineer (vehicle display)
The Display Design Release Engineer is responsible for the end to end mechanical, electrical, and software integration of in vehicle display systems. This includes ownership of display module design, packaging, optical performance, interface requirements, and supplier technical leadership. The engineer ensures that display components meet all functional, regulatory, and quality requirements while delivering a world class user experience. The role requires strong cross functional coordination, deep technical problem solving, and hands on validation of hardware and software.

This role is focused on product development and supplier management, rather than hands-on design work. The selected candidate will:
- Manage components through the full development lifecycle (or pick up an existing program in process).
- Work with internal stakeholders and suppliers from sourcing through production release.
- Monitor supplier progress, milestones, deliverables, and timing.
- Support issue investigation, root cause analysis, and resolution activities.
- Drive parts through validation and launch activities to production plants.
- Operate independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.
- Design Release Engineers across automotive components.
- Systems Engineering experience at a supplier may translate well.
- Candidates from supplier organizations are welcome.
- Non-automotive backgrounds (including aerospace) may be considered if they possess strong product development experience.
- Microsoft Office proficiency is important (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
- Teamcenter, NX/Unigraphics, or similar tools are helpful but not required.
- ECU experience is preferred but not a deal breaker and can be learned on the job.
- Validation/testing experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
- 100% onsite at the Chrysler Technology Center.
- Candidates must be able to work onsite from day one.
- Limited local travel may be required to suppliers within the Detroit metro area.
- Position may occasionally require driving company vehicles for evaluation/testing purposes.
- Engineering degree required (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar engineering discipline).
- Targeting candidates with approximately 3–4+ years of relevant experience.
- Entry-level/new graduates will not be considered.
- Strong preference for candidates with DRE (Design Release Engineer) experience or similar product development ownership experience.
- Display experience is a plus, but not required.
