DescriptionWe are seeking a Fuel Systems Design Release Engineer responsible for the design, development, advanced product & quality planning (APQP), and production release of systems/components within Fuel Systems, including Fuel/Urea tanks and fuel/urea delivery modules.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and release fuel system components with adherence to APQP processes.
- Lead quality improvement, value optimization, and weight reduction initiatives and communicate technical product status to management.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal groups including vehicle program teams, testing & prototype labs, CAE engineers, supplier operations, and manufacturing plants.
- Support and drive quality improvement initiatives related to fuel system components and assemblies.
- 2-5 years of relevant engineering experience (preferred 2-3+ years).
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related, ABET‑accredited discipline.
- Experience as a Design Release Engineer, Product Engineer, or Component Engineer, not primarily CAD or design‑focused roles.
- Knowledge of fuel systems, preferably fuel tanks, fuel delivery modules (FDMs)/fuel pumps, urea/DEF tank systems.
- Understanding of APQP processes.
- Experience supporting product validation activities (DVP&R exposure preferred).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with suppliers, manufacturing, validation labs, program teams, and quality organizations.
- Valid driver’s license with ability to travel as required.
- Direct fuel tank design and release experience.
- Fuel delivery module (FDM) experience.
- Injection molding and/or blow molding experience.
- DFMEA experience.
- Design for Six Sigma certification or training.
- GD&T knowledge.
- NX, Teamcenter, or similar PLM/CAD system experience.
- Virtual simulation experience.
- Fastener and torque application knowledge.
- OEM automotive fuel systems experience.
$43.00 – $48.00 per hour
