Product Development Engineer - Automotive

We are seeking a Development Engineer to join a high-impact engineering team supporting a major business transformation. Auburn Hills, MI

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 2+ years of experience in design and development in an industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of product development processes, validation, and engineering change management
• Experience with project management and cross-functional collaboration
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
• Effective communicator with the ability to operate in a global, multicultural environment

• Automotive or complex manufacturing environment
• Exposure to ERP systems and engineering BOM management
• Experience with lean, quality systems, or VAVE initiatives

• Translate customer and regulatory requirements into functional product specifications
• Own engineering BOMs and manage product lifecycle changes
• Lead design reviews, validation activities, and DFMEA execution
• Ensure product design feasibility, including geometry, tolerances, and manufacturability
• Partner with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality, supply chain) to drive robust product development
• Support supplier development, tooling, and component specifications
• Apply structured problem?solving methods (Six Sigma / DMAIC) and continuous improvement practices
• Contribute to production launch readiness and technical documentation
