Global Product Engineer, Steering & Suspension Aftermarket

Job Purpose

This role supports and advances projects for steering & suspension across the aftermarket (AFM). It requires a forward‑thinking Global Product Engineer who blends technical knowledge with entrepreneurial drive, customer‑focused innovation, and cross‑functional collaboration, overseeing the global progression of key AFM initiatives.

• Provide technical support for aftermarket steering & suspension products, engaging customers and cross‑functional stakeholders to identify unmet needs and translate them into solutions.
• Execute development and validation of aftermarket products sourced from third parties, benchmark competitor products, and oversee testing for new‑to‑range items and new suppliers.
• Create and maintain technical documentation (product attributes, specifications, BOMs, global requirements, benchmarking, design reviews) and ensure timely updates to aftermarket commercial and technical systems.
• Load and maintain engineering data in NPI, PIM, and SAP systems; develop and maintain global technical requirements and design validation plans and reports.
• Support quality investigations, resolve product concerns, and audit new supply sources for steering & suspension products.
• Coordinate with global functions (product line, purchasing) and engage with regional functions (category management, customer & supplier quality, sales, and technical service teams) to ensure smooth product launches and enhance AFM efficiency and revenue.
• Provide technical guidance to the aftermarket Global Engineering Manager and broader business; serve as engineering authority on concessions, deviations, PPAP decisions, engineering changes, and customer‑driven adaptation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical preferred). Industry experience in automotive or aftermarket design and/or manufacturing is required.
• 3+ years of experience in automotive and/or aftermarket sectors, with design or manufacturing exposure.
• Proficiency in steering & suspension passenger car systems is preferred.
• Commercial acumen to analyze data and produce reports.
• Proactive self‑starter with initiative, fostering a culture of innovation and customer focus.
