Automatic Transmission Development & Validation Engineer

Location:

Auburn Hills, MI. Pay Rate: $73.83/hour.

Job Description

Join a cutting-edge engineering team and play a key role in developing and validating advanced automatic transmission systems. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced powertrain engineers who enjoy solving complex technical challenges and contributing to vehicle performance, durability, and quality.

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field preferred
Experience Requirements
  • 3-5 years of automotive engineering experience
  • Experience with automatic transmission development and validation
  • Proficiency with ETAS INCA, Vector CANalyzer, or similar data acquisition and calibration tools
  • Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical reporting skills
Job Duties
  • Lead transmission development, testing, and validation activities
  • Create test plans, schedules, and supporting documentation
  • Support test cell setup, instrumentation, and validation execution
  • Analyze test data and generate detailed validation reports
  • Investigate test failures and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams including software, calibration, thermal, engine, and hardware groups
  • Conduct post-test inspections and document results
  • Manage multiple engineering projects and deadlines
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to work in engineering labs, test cells, and office environments
  • Occasional standing, walking, and lifting of testing equipment as needed
