Step into a day where your designs ignite flight-critical systems. At a privately held, long-established propulsion manufacturer, you will be the technical owner of pyrotechnic and energetic components—initiators, igniters, gas generators—shaping them from first concept through qualification.
A day in the role
Kick off with requirements: translate performance needs into clear, testable specifications and verification plans.
Move into design: engineer components and propellants, run analyses, and collaborate with manufacturing to ensure producibility.
Head to the lab: plan and conduct development and qualification tests; reduce data and interpret results to guide design decisions.
Close the loop: prepare test plans, technical reports, and documentation suites for internal and customer review.
Ensure compliance: interpret applicable government regulations, standards, and safety procedures for energetic devices.
What you bring
10+ years leading development and qualification of energetic components.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering;
Project Management also considered.
Working knowledge of requirements verification and validation (V&V).Familiarity with ammunition and explosive certification processes.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and documentation skills with strong attention to detail.
